Oxfordshire's Drug Treatment System
Harm Reduction Services
- For those who do not feel able to stop taking drugs but want to minimise
the harm to themselves or to others; easily accessible, includes needle
exchange.
Open Access and Assessment
Services - These provide advice and information and support for users,
families and carers. They allow for people to drop-in or telephone for
an appointment. If you think you need treatment, visit your GP or ask
for an initial (triage) assessment with a drugs worker, who can then help
you identify and access the right service(s). This web site tells you
how to access an assessment.
Structured Treatment Services
- Following your assessment, it may be necessary to refer you to another
service for treatment, which might include counselling or a substitute
prescription. This web site outlines the services provided in Oxfordshire
to which you may be referred.
Residential and Inpatient Services
Some people with complex needs will be referred to treatment in
a residential or in-patient service.
Aftercare Services Following
your treatment you will receive help and support to maintain the progress
that you have made and enable you to live independently.
