THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL SERVICE IN OXFORD CITY
This is a 10 bed residential detoxification service
for women
and men over the age of 18, who are resident in Oxfordshire
and who are seeking abstinence from:
- Class A drugs
- Alcohol
- Chaotic poly drug use
- Opiate substitution therapy
- Co-dependence with any of the above and benzodiazepines.
The service offers:
- Assessment
- Detoxification
- Groups
- 1:1's
- Drug testing.
Open: You can be referred to Howard House by your key
worker at SCAS or SMART Community drug and alcohol team.
Please note: Approval from the individual's registered
primary care GP in Oxfordshire will be required regardless
of how they are referred.

This service offers short-term counselling to anyone
in
Oxfordshire who has current issues around drug or alcohol
use.
Before accessing this service it is important to have
a full and
honest discussion with your key worker about whether
it is the
right time to see a counsellor. If there are immediate,
pressing
needs around substitute prescribing/medication or housing,
it
might be best to address these beforehand.
For an informal discussion before referral key workers
can call
the service.
Open: You can be referred
to this service by your GP, nurse or
key worker. The service does not take self referrals.
Please note there is often high demand for this service.

SCAS & Shared Care
Specialist Community Addictions Service, Rectory Centre,

You can access medical treatment for substance misuse
with
SCAS and the Shared Care scheme. Shared care is the
joint
participation of specialist nurses (SCAS nurses), GPs
and
pharmacists in providing medical treatment for substance
misuse. This will usually involve prescribing of methadone
or
buprenorphine (subutex). It can also include medical
treatment
for alcohol.
SCAS secondary care service is for those with serious
medical
needs related to their substance misuse that cannot
be
managed within Share Care.

Young Addaction is Oxfordshire's Young People's Drug
and
Alcohol Service. It is a confidential service which
provides
support for 10-19 year olds with complex and serious
substance misuse issues in Oxfordshire.
Young Addaction work with young people to bring about
change around their substance misuse, whilst also addressing
related issues and risks.
Young Addaction also work with young people affected
by
parental or family drug and alcohol misuse.

- Outreach provision
- One to one sessions
- Referral to specialist prescribing and clinical
services
- Referral to other services
- Advice and support on sexual and physical health
