If you think you need treatment, you will need to ask for an initial (triage) assessment with a drugs worker who can then help you to identify and access the right service(s).
To access a drug treatment service you will need an initial assessment (triage). You can be assessed for treatment in one of the following ways: - Through the Oxfordshire Community Drug Agencies: -Oxford City
North Oxfordshire
South Oxfordshire and Vale
West Oxfordshire
Through an open access Resource Centre:-Abingdon Community Hospital,
Didcot Baptist Church Centre, Witney Resource Centre, By appointment with your GP who will arrange an assessment with a drug worker in the surgery or a local clinic.
If you are not registered with a GP and are homeless you can still be seen for an assessment at:
Luther Street Medical Centre,
If you are arrested, you can get an initial assessment from the Substance Misuse Arrest Referral Team, which offers support for clients awaiting treatment and during crises; liaison with solicitors and probation staff.
SMART,
If you are imprisoned ask to see the Counselling Assessment Referral Advice and Throughcare Service (CARATS).
If you are a client of the Probation Service in Oxfordshire and have serious drug problems you may be assessed by the Drug Treatment and Testing Order (DTTO) Team.
The Police, the DTTO Team, SMART CJS and CARATS work together to move drug using offenders out of crime and into treatment as part of Oxfordshires Drug Interventions Programme (DIP)
